With “THIS IS HIMALAYAN”, BLACKYAK launches a new global campaign and sends a clear message: we are looking back to our origins while also looking ahead - toward a future in which credibility, real performance, and alpine reality once again take center stage. The Himalaya is more than just a backdrop. It is the place where it becomes clear what equipment is truly capable of, and what BLACKYAK stands for as the “Himalayan Original.”

That is exactly why the campaign film was created there. It showcases not only extreme landscapes, but above all the people without whom expeditions would not be possible: Icefall Doctors, who are the first to secure routes through unstable ice formations, Sherpas, who guide teams through highly demanding terrain with experience and responsibility, and alpinists who test equipment where every detail matters. Not in a “test lab,” but in real use: at altitude, in cold, wind, under pressure, in the backpack, at the belay, on long days when gear simply has to work because there is no second chance. These field tests are what turn product development into real progress.

The film focuses on real personalities from the BLACKYAK world: the Icefall Doctor Team supported by BLACKYAK, Gelje Sherpa, and Uta Ibrahimi. Their perspective makes visible what this campaign is truly about: precision, trust, and performance that is not claimed, but proven.
